SINGAPORE Automotive dealership, Komoco Holdings, has officially become the new local importer and dealership for Maserati cars under the moniker Tridente Automobili. The new showroom and service centre at 30 Leng Kee Road is now open for business and sits next door to the Ferrari dealership, Ital Auto, which is also run by Komoco Holdings. The new dealership appointment from the Italian luxury carmaker sees Tridente Automobili take over from long-time dealer, Hong Seh Motors, which had previously declared that its business had been hit by high showroom rentals as well as increasing COE premiums and taxes. It had been reported that it was slashing the prices on its remaining cars to clear the stock.
Along with Ferrari, Maserati now joins Jeep, Hyundai and Harley-Davidson as the automotive brands that fall under the Komoco Holdings umbrella. It is perhaps not entirely a surprise that the local group has been awarded the dealership here as it also operates an existing Maserati showroom in Shanghai, China, where it recently won the Best Dealer Award in China. The new 7,000 sq ft showroom at Leng Kee Road features stylish furniture from Poltrona Frau – a leader in top of the range Italian furnishings – while a new fourth floor workshop covers 14,000 sq ft and can accommodate up to 20 cars at a time, with a total of 18 work bays.
Tridente Automobili says the new facility offers an integrated sales and aftersales service to Maserati owners in Singapore for the first time. Mr. Teo Hock Seng, Managing Director of Komoco Holdings, said, “Being appointed the new importer for Maserati in Singapore is a significant milestone for the company. We hope that our commitment to the business provides the principal and existing owners with the reassurance that we will continue to run the business with the same personal touch that goes into every element of the brand.”
