AT 4.19 METRES in length, the Q2 will be the smallest and most affordable SUV in Audi’s range With rugged looks and compact dimensions, this car is likely to tug at the heartstrings of car buyers seeking to purchase an urban SUV. It packs in adequate space to ferry five adults, gets a 4 05-litre boot and the interiors are well-specified with premium quality materials. Equipment levels are likely to be generous too. Engine options include a 1.4-litre 150hp turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel that’s available with either 150hp or 190hp.
Both these engines are mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and while the Q2 is, by default, front-wheel drive, the top diesel variants might get all-wheel drive as well. Its powerful engines and lightweight construction, combined with good handling and a comfortable ride, make it a fun car to drive. At an expected price of Rs 27 lakh, the Q2 will go up against premium hatchbacks like the Volvo V4 o Cross Country and Mercedes-Benz A-class, when it’s launched in India in mid-2017.
